Greater Portland Pulse is home to over 100 data sets, all displayed in a variety of different interactive visualizations. The sheer amount of data on the website, as well as the technology used to display it, can often seem overwhelming—for this reason, Greater Portland Pulse hosts free, public workshops that cover everything from navigating the website to downloading, customizing, and even creating your own visualizations.
Here's why you might want to take this workshop:
- You are interested in using data to learn about the greater Portland region.
- You are interested in accessing and understanding data to track the social, environmental, and economic well-being of Portland.
- You are interested in learning how to use WEAVE, an open-source visualization tool that we use on this site.
No database training or special skills are necessary for attendance. You should be able to use a computer and a mouse.
For more information or to register for an upcoming workshop, contact Liza Morehead at more@pdx.edu (space is limited, so please register in advance).
